Automatic Remediation - Prevent Sharing Between OU's

This guide will walk you through the process of setting up a policy to automatically break shares between OU's.

STEP ONE:

Sign into your Cloud Access Monitor Instance.


STEP TWO:

Navigate to the Audit & Control page, and select the Blue Enabled link in the policies column on the desired environment.


STEP THREE:

Select the "Add Policy" Button on the right side of the screen.


STEP FOUR:

The Add Policy window will appear.

  • Give your policy a Name.

  • Select the Source(s) as Drive File.

  • Select File type(s), blank (all) is recommended.

  • Select File Size, blank (all) is recommended.

STEP FIVE:

In the Sharing column enter in the OU you wish to prevent sharing from in the From Specific OU's field, and the OU's you wish to prevent sharing to in the To Specific OU's field.

Note: Multiple OU's can be selected.

  • This policy would affect any files being shared to the /Teachers OU from the /Students OU.


STEP SIX:

Once you have setup your custom policy select the Apply button on the bottom left.


STEP SEVEN:

At this point you may choose if you would like any Automatic Remediation to take place.

Select the remediation dropdown next to Drive and choose the Revoke Share option.

STEP EIGHT:

Once you have chosen your remediation options (if any), the next step is to choose when remediation options will occur.


STEP NINE:

Choose who will be notified if a remediation does occur.

  • Notify User: Notify the user that caused the policy violation to occur.

  • Notify Admin: Notify the Cloud Access Monitor Admin that remediation action has been taken.


STEP TEN:

Select the save button at the bottom right of the window.
