'HaveIBeenPwned' is a service provided by Troy Hunt - more details at : https://haveibeenpwned.com
Pwn is a term used in the cyber-security world to indicate when someone has been hacked or their information has been compromised in some way. We have integrated the resources of haveibeenpwned.com within our platform for an easy way to check the safety of your user accounts.
On each individual user account page you will see this icon in the top right of the page.
Clicking this button will check if that user's email address was leaked in any known data breaches.
No Pwnage Found:
This is what you want to see! The email address you checked was not included in any known data breaches.
Pwnage Found:
If the account details were compromised, you will see a list of the breach names in the popup including the domain of the site (if applicable) and the date when the breach occurred.
For a full description of the data breach you can click the "More" dropdown. Below is an example of what that might look like.
To see all types of user data that were leaked in the breach, scroll down below the "Description" section and you'll find the "Data Classes". This information is very important to determine the severity of the breach. If a lot of personal information is leaked, this account is at high risk to be the subject used in spoof phishing attacks. If a password is leaked along with the email address, the account is at high risk to be compromised.
