Overview - Session Tab

Sessions provide teacher's with a command center for monitoring student activity, guiding lessons and ensuring everyone is on task.

This guide covers the main sections of a live session:


STUDENT VIEW

The Main center pane displays all students related to an active session.

  • Participant: Each user is represented by an individual name and card. Apply search input to filter summary view.

  • Connection Type: Filter view by user connection status. Connected users have a green checkmark and screen display. Disconnected users have a grey x and blank screen.

  • Pin: Sets user to top of monitor list.

  • Image: Refresh page view for connected participants.

  • Zoom: Select -/+ to increase or decrease the user card size.

  • View: Select the Grid or Line icon to change summary display.

    MAIN ACTIONS:

Icons on each user's card allow you to perform specific actions, such as locking their screen or opening a menu with more options.

  • Take Screenshot: Captures content shown on user's screen.

  • View History: Displays user browsing history.

  • Close Active Tab: Exits tab displayed on user's screen.

  • Delete: Removes user from current class session.

INDIVUDIAL ACTIONS:

Click on a participant's card to further manage their session.

  • Block: Sets navigation restriction to selected URL.

  • Set Active: Moves selected tab to user's browser view.

  • Close: Exits selected tab from user's browser.

  • Take Screenshot: Captures content shown on user's screen.


SESSION DASHBOARD

The sidebar sections give an informative overview on the active session.

  • General: Countdown shows time left in active session. Session will automatically end when timer runs out. Select End Session to manually stop the monitoring session.

  • Summary: Provides key metrics for the class. This includes the number of Connected/Disconnected participants, Sub-Sessions, Unique Sites and Top Site activity.


CLASS CONTROLS

The sidebar also provides resources for class wide management.

  • Scenes: Applies site access rule settings for class participants. Rule sets can be individually toggled On/Off. Other options include Create New, Add Existing or Edit.

  • Tabs: Lists user's open browser tabs to allow for direct site management.

    • Open Tab: Submit URL to force open site on connected users browser.

    • Block: Removes site access for related class users. Site added to default scene configuration.

    • Close: Exits related site tabs open by all participants.

    • Site: Selecting name on list provides options to Go to Url or View Participants.

  • Chat: Allows teacher to send message to connected participants. A browser alert will be displayed for user visibility.
