Overview - Scenes Tab

Updated over 3 months ago

Scenes define which websites class participants are allowed to access. Scenes created here are available for use during live class sessions.

This guide covers the main aspects of creating and managing Scenes:

USING SCENES

Applying Scenes on an active class instantly enforces rules for all participants in that session. Prepare Scenes to save valuable class time and keep participants on track.

For example:

  • A "Focus" Scene that blocks common distractions like games and social media.

  • A "Quiz Time" Scene that blocks everything except for the website where the quiz is hosted.

  • A "Research Paper" Scene that only allows access to online libraries and specific research sites.

CREATING A NEW SCENE

The Scenes tab provides options to search, build and edit configurations.

Click the + Add button in the top-right corner to create a new Scene.

  • This action opens the "Allow & Block" configuration section where Scene names and allowed/blocked site inputs are set.

Select the "Policies" subtab to access "Focus Mode" toggle option.

  • If enabled, all explicitly allowed sites will automatically open on student's machine and they will not be allowed to create new tabs or visit other sites.

Select the "Access" subtab for user settings.

  • This section is used to add users for Scene management. Roles include View, Edit, or Owner relationship.

FINDING AND FILTERING SCENES

The Filter options help when needing to quickly identify specific classes.

Click Search after setting filters to apply them.

Click Reset to clear filters and view all results.

  • Name: Return scenes based on name input.

  • Owned By: Return scenes based on owner input.

MANAGING EXISTING SCENES

The Actions column has two options for managing existing Scenes.

  • Edit: The pencil icon allows changes to be applied for existing Scene configurations.

  • Delete: The trash can icon will permanently remove a saved Scene configuration.
