[Advanced Edition] Creating Custom Role(s)

This guide will outline examples of the most common custom roles. If you only want to assign a user to existing roles, please follow THIS guide.

Follow steps 1-5 in THIS guide to prepare for custom role creation.

EXAMPLE: Investigation User

A investigation user custom role allows you to give access needed to monitor risk or policy events and perform further investigation. Also if necessary these users can take appropriate actions.

Generally this is used for principals and counselors who need more than just view access.

EXAMPLE: Admin User(any way to differentiate from "AUDIT_CONTROL_ONLY"?)

A admin user custom role allows you to give high level platform access without the ability to change critical components such as OAuth settings, User adjustments and risks or policies.

Generally this is used for other admin level users that don't require full access.

Note: This user has a more limited access than default "SUPER_ADMIN" role.

EXAMPLE: Reporting User

A reporting user custom role allows you to give report generation access without having access to...(IP: with Charles)

Generally this is assigned to users who need to conduct reporting for full range data investigation.

EXAMPLE: (New-Customer)View Only User

A view only user custom role allows you to give minimal access to new or existing users of the platform. Starting with the default view only level allows for a more refined role moving forward. As users hit roadblocks to complete their needs they can request access and admins can update the initial role as necessary.

Generally this is assigned for new users that may need more access in the future.
