The Block List (under Policy) lets you explicitly block web access. You can block individual Sites — optionally with path wildcards, a category, and a muted-violation option — block whole content Categories, or block Search Terms by keyword or regular expression. Entries can be scoped to a specific organizational unit.
What this guide covers
Before you begin: You need a Content Filter Admin role to manage the Block List. Entries apply to the domain selected in the top bar. Reach this page from the top nav under Policy › Block List.
The Block List page with the Sites tab, filter, toolbar, and blocked-site list.
Scope and Notifications
The selectors at the top right scope the Block List to a specific Organizational Unit. The Configure Notification button (above the tabs) opens the settings that control the message users see when a site is blocked.
The Configure Notification control above the tabs.
Control | Description |
Organizational Unit | Scope the Block List to a specific organizational unit. |
Configure Notification | Opens the settings for the block notification shown to users. |
The Sites Tab
The Sites tab lists the individual sites that are blocked. Use the Filter to search by site, and the toolbar to add, remove, or import entries. Each row shows the site, an optional Category, a Mute Violation toggle, any Path Wildcards, and per-row controls.

Actions | Per-row controls to notify, edit, or delete the entry. |
Adding a Site to the Block List
Select Add Site to open the form. Enter the Site, optionally add Path Wildcards, optionally assign a Category, and set Mute Violation if you want the block to be silent, then select Add Site.

The Categories Tab
The Categories tab lets you block entire content categories. Use the Filter to search by category name and to limit the view with the Enabled and Legacy toggles. Each category row has a toggle to enable or disable blocking for it, plus controls to view details and configure notification.
