How to Block a YouTube Video

Prevent students from watching a specific YouTube video across your filtered network.

Note: Blocking a video only affects playback on managed devices covered by your Content Filter policy. You can block a video by pasting its URL directly—there's no need to search for it by title.


STEP ONE

From the top navigation bar, click Policy, then select YouTube from the dropdown menu.

Select YouTube from the Policy menu.


STEP TWO

On the Videos tab, paste the full YouTube video URL (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=) into the Video Url field.

Paste the video URL into the Video Url field.


STEP THREE

Click the Block button below the field to add the video to your Block List.

Click Block to add the video to the Block List.


STEP FOUR

The video now appears in the table below the buttons with a Status of Block, confirming it is blocked network-wide.

The video appears in the table with Status: Block.


STEP FIVE

To remove a video from the Block List later, click the trash/delete icon in the Actions column for that row.

Click the delete icon to remove a video from the Block List.
